În perioada 16-17 decembrie, de la ora 11:00, în UNATC are loc Atelierul de Film documentar cu regizorul, criticul de film, jurnalistul și directorul artistic Luciano Barisone.
Atelierul este dedicat exclusiv studenților masteranzi de la specializarea Film Documentar și va avea loc online.

Luciano Barisone
Instead of the reductive term of «documentary» I prefer that of «cinema of the real». Cinema was born like that with the Lumière Brothers and, talking about terms, the word documentary has as its roots the word document. And a document certifies something. Or I think that cinema doesn’t certify anything. For me cinema reveals.
Such kind of cinema could be a cinema in poetry form or a cinema in the form of a prose. But it can be none other than a cinema «subject», a cinema «gift» and not a cinema «object», a cinema «merchandise». Its gift is to film the visible world in order to catch the invisible one.
All this process passes through its breath (tone, pauses, accelerations…), rather as it happens in poetry and music…

Film-club host, journalist and film critic for newspapers and specialist magazines (La Stampa, Il Manifesto, Filmcritica, Cineforum, Panoramiche, Duel), since 1997 Luciano Barisone edited several monographs on some famous filmmakers: among them Catherine Breillat, Robert Guédiguian, Clint Eastwood, Naomi Kawase, Nicolas Philibert and Sydney Pollack.
From 1985 to 2011 he’s the head of film programming as a part of Aosta Valley’s Cultural Season.
Between 1997 and 2010 he has contributed to numerous international film festivals (as a member of the selection committee and a press conferences moderator), including the Locarno International Film Festival and the Venice International Film Festival.
In 2002, he founded the Alba Infinity Festival, for which he has acted as artistic director until 2007.
From 2008 to 2010 he has been artistic director at Festival dei Popoli in Florence.
From 2011 to 2017 he has been the director of Visions du Réel in Nyon.
Between 1999 and 2004 he worked as a reader, analyst, and tutor of film projects for the Montecinemaverità Foundation.
Since 2006 he acts as a tutor at the Master Documental of the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona.
He usually gives lectures at Film Schools and randomly at Film Festivals (like those he did with the Emerging Producers in Jihlava IFF).
Between 2010 and 2016 he acted as a tutor or consultant for Eurodoc, Ventana Sur, Chile Doc, FEMIS, Cyclic, Proimagenes Colombia, CineMundi Belo Horizonte, INCAA, MAFF.
In 2017 and 2018 he worked as an international consultant for Incubadora, an initiative taken by the Instituto Nacional de Cine y Artes Audiovisuales, reading, selecting, and following as a tutor several projects of Argentinian creative documentaries.
Between 2017 and 2018 he works as an international consultant for MAFIZ, the Latin-American market of the Malaga Film Festival.
Since 2015 he gives cinema lectures at international level.
In 2017 he starts to follow some international film projects as an associate creative producer.
He has served as a member of the jury at numerous film festivals.
